Welcome to the Fleetwood Country Cruize-In 2014 Event for June 7 and 8 in London. From the early beginnings just 10 shows ago with 60 classic cars and 2 cases of Coke, this Cruize-In has morphed into an automotive extravaganza like no other.
Utilizing a private 105 acre estate with 4 stone homes, ponds, bridges, fountains, water features, a 31-car 10,000 sq. ft. showroom full of memorabilia, and an 8,000 sq. ft. Cadillac Salon reminiscent of the grand showrooms of the 1930's, makes for a venue that a shopping mall parking lot just can't equal. An average of 7000 visit these two buildings on this weekend.
In the short time since our inception, we have expanded to include many vendors, acres of motor homes, amphicars giving rides on the pond, 4 air shows, most famous TV and movie cars in the world, well-known actors and music celebrities with up to 4600 guests for the 2 evening shows in a tent the size of a football field. Spectators converge from all over North America filling hotels and spending tourist dollars. Through the weekend, 25,000 people visit the estate. By the shows end, we've parked 11,000 spectator and show cars, somewhere. The event and private collection have been featured on 3 different Speed Channel TV shows and now on Discovery in England and North America. The Associated Press usually picks up the event with coverage in the Toronto Star, National Post and most papers across Canada.
For 2011, Street Rodder Magazine covered the event and we were an official tour destination from Missouri. Street Rodders' readership is 1,765,000 people. Just huge media coverage for this event.
My goal from the beginning was to create a Concours D'Elegance caliber event but for everyone at any level of the hobby. The charity aspect also evolved over time and now numerous worthy causes benefit here in Middlesex County.
When the 2014 event is concluded, the series of 10 shows would have spent $3,150,000 with local suppliers and $1,150,000 of that going directly to charity. These figures don't include the millions of tourist dollars spent in area gas stations, stores, restaurants, hotels, etc. For the 2014 show, I'm very proud of the lineup of daytime automotive celebrities. They're first class.
There is no event like this in North America.
Sincerely,
